I generally read manga and don't watch anime because watching episodes take too much time or at least feels that way.
You can use various websites to read manga, but here are the ones that I use (I usually use tenmanga because I'm just used to typing it in the address bar)
www.tenmanga.com
www.mangahere.co
www.kissmanga.com ( www.kissanime.com is the main anime website I use)
www.mangatown.com
Here are some recommendations. THIS LIST WILL BE UPDATED WITH MY AND OTHER PEOPLE'S RECOMMENDATIONS OVER TIME.
There are over 20,000 manga series that exist, so obviously I will not put all of them on this list, but anything that stands out to you as worth the time to read should be mentioned!
I will NOT include ones that are extremely popular or well known (Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, One Piece, Naruto, etc) and will keep the list as short as possible. I kept the descriptions minimal so I wouldn't spoil anything.
More suitable for younger audiences:
Boku no Hero Academia (relatively new but it is getting popular! about superheroes and superhero schools, with villains of course)
Kamen Teacher (about a new teacher who comes to a school of delinquents and disciplines them by force)
One-punch Man (this one flips the typical idea of a hero overcoming challenges to defeat enemies upside down.)
The Breaker (martial arts)
The Breaker: New Waves (the sequel to The Breaker, with more martial arts but a VERY interesting story!)
Toriko (about FOOD and fighting)
Feng Shen Ji (Gods vs. humans)
Samurai Deeper Kyo (old, but it's very compelling, sword-fighting and super powers)
Manga for more mature audiences:
Jackals (gore and nudity)
Kingdom (gore) (about a period in Chinese history with various states in war; mostly about war TACTICS and strategies)
Berserk (gore and nudity) (fantasy genre, about a man trying to defeat demons)
Vagabond (based on the legendary Japanese swordsman Miyamoto Musashi)
Blade of the Immortal (about an "immortal" samurai, very intricate storyline, so pay close attention!)
Brave 10 (about supernatural powers, historical setting)
Tenjou Tenge (nudity, lots of action, VERY complex storyline, and the drawing is truly phenomenal)
Terra Formars (gore, nudity?) (Well, this one is about outer space and evolved species, very cool!)
TENKUU SHINPAN (about a strange universe where people struggle to survive)
Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru (some censored male nudity) (about martial arts, but has funny scenes, about a guy trying to improve in fighting)
Until Death do us part (Japanese = SHI GA FUTARI O WAKATSU MADE) (one of my personal favorites. about a clairvoyant young girl and a blind swordsman, very interesting story!)
